Layer IQ and Rejoose Partner to Address IT Sustainability Reporting and Critical Mineral Recovery at Scale

A data partnership bringing environmental intelligence and material recovery onto a single platform.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE · 11 May 2026 · Contact: press@rejoose.com

Two converging pressures are reshaping how organisations manage IT hardware — and the rapid acceleration of AI deployments is intensifying both.

The first is regulatory: over 14,000 companies are now required to provide activity-based environmental reporting on their running IT assets and full impact reporting on the waste generated when those assets are retired — and that number is expected to exceed 100,000 within the next two years as CSRD, GHG Protocol, and frameworks like California's SB-253 expand their reach.

The second is strategic: critical minerals essential to technology manufacturing — rare earth elements, precious metals, and key materials — exist in greater concentrations in currently deployed IT equipment than in active mining operations, making recovery from end-of-life hardware a matter of supply chain resilience and national security.

AI is compressing hardware refresh cycles, straining material supply chains, and increasing the environmental footprint of IT operations — making both credible impact reporting and efficient material recovery more urgent than they have ever been.

Layer IQ, Technologies, Inc. (Layer IQ) and Rejoose ApS (Rejoose) are announcing a data partnership that brings both of these challenges onto a single platform.

Rejoose's Life Cycle Assessment dataset — independently assured to ISAE 3000 standards and audited by EY — gives organisations validated environmental intelligence on their active IT fleet. With coverage spanning up to ten years of hardware generations and over 18 million SKUs, the dataset delivers the carbon intensity and material composition data that activity-based reporting demands — whether an organisation is reporting on equipment purchased last quarter or assets that have been in service for nearly a decade.

Rejoose's Recycled and Resource dataset extends that intelligence to the materials level. Developed in alignment with EPA's WARM methodology, it enables component-level fingerprinting of IT assets down to constituent materials, elements, and minerals. Integrated into Layer IQ's Asset IQ platform, this materials intelligence becomes operational — informing where and how to recover critical minerals based on asset value, available recovery processes, and applicable e-waste shipping regulations.

Asset IQ connects the organisations that need this intelligence into a single operational layer: OEMs seeking to reclaim equipment and secure material supply chains, enterprises managing the environmental impact of their fleets, IT Asset Disposition partners responsible for recovery and processing, and GHG accounting teams reporting on all of it. Rejoose's validated data provides the environmental and materials foundation that runs through every stage of that ecosystem — from active fleet reporting through disposition routing to material recovery.

For organisations navigating the transition from estimated to activity-based Scope 3 reporting, and for policymakers and OEMs focused on critical mineral supply chain security, the partnership delivers the data infrastructure to act on both simultaneously.

Mike DiPetrillo, CEO and Founder, Layer IQ, Technologies, Inc.

"Every organisation we meet with right now is waking up to these two converging forces — the regulatory push for activity-based environmental reporting and the strategic urgency around critical mineral recovery. They are looking for practical solutions that can address both. We are extremely proud to have Rejoose as a partner. Their dataset is class-leading — ISAE 3000 assured, EY-audited, covering a decade of IT hardware across more than eighteen million SKUs — and integrating it into Asset IQ lets us deliver on the demands we are hearing from enterprises, OEMs, and disposition partners around the globe on a daily basis."

Thomas Winter Marshal, CEO and Co-Founder, Rejoose ApS

"Most customers are genuinely surprised to discover that credible environmental data exists for their current IT fleet — not just for new purchases. Through our partnership with Layer IQ, organisations can now access PCF data for assets already in operation, and with our Recycled and Resource data available at component level, they have the full picture from manufacture to end-of-life. We are excited to work with a platform purpose-built to turn this into actionable intelligence."

About Layer IQ, Technologies, Inc.

Layer IQ, Technologies, Inc. is closing the circular IT gap — the more than $70 billion in environmental and economic value lost every year when IT equipment is retired without the intelligence to recover it. Its Asset IQ platform connects enterprises, OEMs, disposition partners, and carbon markets so that every asset's full value — environmental, material, and financial — is captured rather than wasted.
